More Organizations Turn to Cloud to Reduce Data Storage Pressure
As storage requirements continue to spiral upward, more organizations are relying on the cloud to help them do data management, backup, data warehousing, development/test and archive, according to a new research report, based on a survey among members of the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG),  that was conducted by Unisphere Research, a division of Information Today, Inc . The research included the responses of 361 data managers and IT professionals from organizations of all sizes and across various industries.

12 Game-Changing Technologies Fueling the Data-Driven Enterprise
What are the key technology developments being seen in data-savvy enterprises this year? There are some familiar ones that still dominate, as well as a new breed of nascent solutions that promise to disrupt the data center as we know it. Data lakes, virtual reality, virtualization, cloud, Blockchain, and DBaaS are seen as taking on a greater role. And real-time, in particular, is becoming more of a force. Fifty-seven percent of managers and professionals in a recent Unisphere-IOUG survey state that there is now strong demand for delivery of real-time information within their organizations (“Moving Data at the Speed of Business: 2016 IOUG Survey on Data Delivery Strategies,” February 2016).
