IBM says the new release, IBM DB2 V11.1, will help developers more easily bridge on-premises applications to the cloud and enable a hybrid data architecture. IBM DB2 is also SQL-compatible with Oracle Database, making it possible to leverage existing skills to move applications from Oracle to DB2, according to IBM.
