IBM says the new release, IBM DB2 V11.1, will help developers more easily bridge on-premises applications to the cloud and enable a hybrid data architecture. IBM DB2 is also SQL-compatible with Oracle Database, making it possible to leverage existing skills to move applications from Oracle to DB2, according to IBM.

Of course, when speaking about those relational flaws, the comments always focus on problematic aspects of a DBMS' physical implementation.
