"The multi-billion-dollar big data and IoT revolution requires a modern, innovative approach to preparing data and empowering end users," said Ping Li, partner at Accel and director of its Big Data Fund.

IBM Increases Digital Agency Footprint
The IT and marketing worlds keep converging, and IBM’s latest acquisition is proof of that. The vendor said it intends to acquire Aperto – a digital agency with headquarters in Berlin. IBM’s first digital marketing agency acquisition in Europe to tap experience design talent combines with high-value services expertise in strategy, analytics and cognitive computing. Upon completion of this transaction, Aperto will join the IBM Interactive Experience (IBM iX) team. IBM iX is the largest global digital agency as reported by Ad Age, providing clients a fusion of services spanning strategy, analytics and systems integration for digital, commerce, mobile and wearable platforms. Its consultants co-create solutions for clients, including Nationwide, Jaguar’s Landrover, Citi and Wimbledon, in its 25 global IBM Studios.
IBM noted that this creative and digital agency acquisition closely follows its announcement of plans to acquire the US-based agency Resource/Ammirati.
