Mawby is 5'2 but that didn't stop her from hoping that she'd be a famous model one day. "Since I was a little girl I always dreamed of becoming a model. I loved being in front of the camera and striking a pose, now, my dream is reality," she wrote on her personal website.

Mawby was actually in school when she got her lucky break and was stunned at the chance to pursue her dream career. "It was all very exciting and happened very fast!" she told Women Fitness. "I never believed I could make it as a model and at the time I was training to become a beauty therapist on my third year of college but I just knew inside something more exciting was in store for me."

Demi Rose Mawby rose to fame on Instagram

How does someone who is quite a bit shorter than the average model break into the business, let alone amass such a huge following? Why, through the power of social media, of course. Mawby started out her career by simply posting pictures of herself on Instagram. With her classically beautiful bone structure and killer curves, it wasn't long before people started noticing Mawby and following her account. "I've had Instagram since I was 18," she told The Sun. "Posed for selfies and pictures and it just grew."

Like many other millennials, Mawby first got her start on MySpace, according to an interview she did in a cover story for SIXTY6 magazine (via The Sun). "In school I was quite popular on MySpace and that kind of followed on to Instagram," she said. "It was really weird when people started recognizing me and stuff on the street. I just got used to it."

Demi Rose Mawby struggled with an eating disorder in her teens
Instagram
Millions of people admire Mawby's stunning physique and its substantial curves. The model is confident about her body these days, but that hasn't always been the case — Mawby struggled with her body image and had an eating disorder in her younger years. "I had a curvy figure at 16 and wanted to lose a load of weight so I went through a period of getting so skinny and putting myself on a strict diet. I was so unhappy and hated my body," she told the Daily Mail. She revealed that at one point she weighed as little as 37kg, which is equivalent to approximately 82 lbs.

Fortunately, Mawby realized that forcing herself to lose weight wasn't healthy and decided to make a change. "One day I woke up and realized I had to get better for myself. I started going to the gym, eating normally, and now I'm so confident with my body," she said.

Stop defining Demi Rose Mawby by her relationship with Tyga
Instagram
Many people didn't become aware of Mawby until the model started dating rapper Tyga 2016 shortly after he broke up with Kylie Jenner. While the relationship didn't work out, Mawby wishes him well. She also wishes that people would stop talking about her in terms of her famous ex boyfriend. As she so rightly pointed out, she's a celeb in her own right. "I was quite known before I even met him," she told the Daily Mail in 2017. "But I'm still referred to as Tyga's ex."

She insisted that there's no ill feeling between the two. "We still talk now and then, you know, just 'how are you?' and stuff," she said, but we can't really blame her for wanting people to stop defining her by her past relationship. Besides, it's the 21st century. Isn't it high time that we stop defining women by their relationships with men?

There's no bad blood between Demi Rose Mawby and Kylie Jenner
Instagram
Considering that they both dated the same man, not to mention the fact that the man in question dated one so quickly after the other, it would be reasonable to think that Mawby dislikes Kylie Jenner. Many people resent or feel jealous of their partner's exes, but Mawby swears she's got nothing but respect for Jenner. We couldn't blame her if there was some bitterness, though, especially after many of Jenner's fans criticized Mawby for getting together with Tyga.

In spite of all this, there doesn't appear to be any bad blood between the two celebs. "There are no bad vibes, between us, I think," Mawby told the Daily Mail in 2017. "People will always hate on me, I guess." She added that she doesn't let her critics get to her and that she remains positive. "I don't let the negativity get to me, it never ever gets to me," she said. "I'm so happy and I get more love than I ever have online."

This is how Demi Rose Mawby stays in such great shape
Instagram
How does Mawby maintain her curvy and impressive physique? It takes a lot of hard work. The model adheres to a strict workout routine to keep herself in peak physical condition. She doesn't do it all on her own, though. She has a personal trainer named Dean DeLandro who guides her fitness journey and, according to an interview Mawby gave Women Fitness, he "always creates the best training programs for me to reach my goals."

Mawby elaborated on her fitness routine, saying "I train with Dean four times or more a week for one hour each time. We usually work on my glutes, abs and conditioning my body sessions with some cardio." It's an intense routine, and Mawby said that it can be hard to stick to, especially as she's often on the road for work. Still, it's clear that her hard work is paying off and keeping her body incredibly toned.

Sugar is a no-no for Demi Rose Mawby
Instagram
Mawby doesn't just exercise, of course, to keep in shape. She's also very cautious about what she puts in her body and makes sure to only eat nutritious foods. "I am always very aware of what I eat and love eating healthily," she told Women Fitness. "I try to avoid as much carbs as I can and I never eat bread, pasta and I avoid sugar at all costs."

The model is proud of how healthily she eats, adding that even her friends are super impressed with her nutrient-filled diet. "Everyone says I'm the healthiest person I know," she told the Daily Mail. "The fattiest thing I will ever eat is nuts and peanut butter." She explained that her diet helps her stay trim, especially as her small frame gains weight quickly. "Any bad thing I eat my body isn't used to it and just puts on the weight," she said. "That means no birthday cake!"

It's all about self confidence for Demi Rose Mawby
Instagram
Life hasn't always been easy for Mawby, and even now that she's famous there are still people who dislike her. She doesn't let the negativity get to her, though, and wants others to do the same. That's easier said then done, but Mawby accomplishes it by staying confident and focused on herself. She told Women Fitness that she believes this is the secret to both physical and mental health. "I'd say confidence is key, be yourself and be the best version of you that you can be," she said.

Being that "best version of you" requires a bit of work, too. Mawby added that a big part of living your best life also means taking care of your body. She recommended that those who want to live a healthy lifestyle should commit to "working out, having a healthy diet and looking after your skin by cleansing and moisturizing well." Clearly, this routine is working out incredibly well for the stunning model.

Demi Rose Mawby's blossoming DJ career
Instagram
If modeling doesn't end up panning out or if Mawby wants to change career paths, she can always fall back on her blossoming DJ career. "I absolutely love music," she told Women Fitness in 2017. "I love playing on the decks and to see the people enjoy it and enjoy their day/night. I couldn't live without music! The DJ'ing is a passion that I intend to continue having fun with in the future."

Mawby has gained some attention for her DJ work, with the press labeling her as "the world's sexiest DJ." She began dropping tracks on SoundCloud back in 2017 and, while she hasn't garnered as big of a following for her music as she has for her modeling, she's still racked up a formidable number of listens on the website. While it's been a while since she's posted new music, we hope that the model continues to explore this passion. It's clear that she has quite a talent for it!

Demi Rose Mawby lost both of her parents within eight months
Instagram
Mawby's father passed away in October 2018, and her mother passed just eight months later. The back-to-back deaths were a devastating blow to the model, who was quite close to her family. While Mawby posted tributes to both of her parents on her social media (via The Sun), she hardly spoke out publicly about the losses, choosing instead to throw herself into her work.

"I am trusting the divine timing of the universe," the devastated Mawby wrote on Instagram (via The Sun). "I have faith that I am in the right place at the right time, and I am going in the right direction. I trust that everything I am going through now is teaching me and preparing me for my future. Everything is happening as it needs to."

The model also credited her fans with helping her keep going during the emotionally difficult time. "Thank you all so much for the love and support," she said. "I really really appreciate it and you all are like my extended family. Gotta keep rolling."

Demi Rose Mawby's parents were quite supportive of her career
Instagram
Before their tragic deaths, Mawby's parents were very supportive of their famous daughter and her career. Many of Mawby's poses are quite revealing, but her parents understood that it was just part of her job. "We don't mind at all," her mom told the Daily Mail in 2017. "She always said she wouldn't do nudity, not that we've told her not to, her pictures are racy and suggestive but she shows them all to us. We're right behind her. She's such a beautiful girl, why shouldn't she? If you've got it, flaunt it."

She added that Mawby had stayed grounded in spite of her growing fame and that any tabloid reports to the contrary were simply rumors. "She's very kind and a really down-to-earth girl — nothing like what we are seeing in the press," she said. "'When she's at home she's perfectly normal. She loves her cat Raggles and her big white Samoyed dog Leo. She's a great cook and is a homebody."

Mawby's dad added that he knew his daughter always had a big future ahead of her. "She was always interested in beauty and a good-looking girl to boot," he said. "I could always see it coming as she's very ambitious."

Demi Rose Mawby was signed to a modeling agency that was rumored to be an escort service
Instagram
Early in her career, Mawby was involved with Taz's Angels, a group of models who live together in a mansion, and are managed by a man named Taz — who has been referred to as "the black Hugh Hefner." While Taz's Angels claims to be a mentorship program that helps train the girls to become wealthy and famous, it has drawn accusations of actually being a clandestine escort service.

Mawby, who moved to the U.S. to be one of Taz's Angels, eventually left the group, but insisted that none of the young women were involved in illegal activity. "No it was never like that at all," she told The Sun in 2016. "Not an escort agency at all. We were hosting clubs and having fun. Just being popular on social media and showing people a bit of our life."

She also credited Taz's Angels with helping build her international brand."We went to parties and hosted clubs, we went to America, we saw the world. It did make me more internationally known."

This is why she won't have mail delivered to her house
Instagram
With fame often comes increased risks. There's no telling how far an over-eager fan will go. Mawby has dealt with stalking incidents in her past that frightened her so much that she refuses to have mail delivered to her house anymore. In a 2017 Snapchat story (via Birmingham Mail), Mawby revealed that delivery men have abused her personal information by texting her after delivering things to her home. One man asked her out, asking her not to tell his employer that he had broken the rules by texting her. Mawby was understandably frightened, especially as the men knew where she lived. "Today or tomorrow I could open the door to the wrong person," she said.

It's because of this that Mawby said she stopped having things delivered to her home. "I've been safe so far but that's what why I'm stopping all deliveries to my house because it does take one sick person to go a step further," she wrote on Twitter.

Demi Rose Mawby's perfect man "could be anyone"
Instagram
As of this writing, Mawby is dating fellow DJ Chris Martinez. While Martinez is quite good looking, it's probably his personality that played a bigger role in the pair getting together. "I don't really have a type because I like personalities better," Mawby told The Sun in 2016 after her breakup with Tyga. "So I don't really look at guys like oh my god, 'I'd love to be with him ' because you never know how they are going to be."

She added that she isn't really into pretty boys and could fall for anyone regardless of appearances as long as they treat her well and have a good personality. "Just little things like open the door, little surprises like bring me flowers or get my favorite food," she said. "Get some nuts or something. Cashews are my favorite. Guys actually do that for me and get me nuts. It makes me so happy."

Demi Rose Mawby plans to break into Hollywood
Instagram
What does the future have in store for Mawby? While we don't have a crystal ball, it's safe to say that the model is going to keep building on her impressive momentum. In addition to continuing to wow the world through modeling, she also has plans to branch out into another creative outlet: acting. "I'd like a Hollywood career," she told The Sun back in 2016. "I went to stage school so fingers crossed."

While she hasn't talked about any upcoming acting roles, if her career continues to go at the rate it has been, it's probably only a matter of time before we see her on the big screen. It appears that she has at least one acting credit under her belt so far. IMDb lists a Demi Rose, a name that Mawby often goes by, as having acted in a short film called End Time back in 2012.
